Oregon is one of the most beautiful, underrated states in America.

BEST AREAS TO VISIT in oregon:

Columbia RIVER GORGE

This was my main base for my trip to Oregon and was the best location to stay! The Columbia River Gorge is known to have the highest concentration of waterfalls in North America. We saw over 7 amazing waterfalls during our time here and some of the hikes weren’t even that hard to get to the waterfall. Definetely base most of your trip out of this scenic area and you will have the best time ever seeing all of the nature Oregon has to offer.

We stayed on the Washington side of the Columba River at Skamania Lodge, which was an amazing accommodation for us and was located to all of the best hikes and waterfalls. We even did a zipline adventure at the lodge which was so much fun!

CANNON BEACH

During my trip to Oregon, I also decided to visit the Oregon coast for beautiful beaches and unique rock formations. I stayed in Cannon beach for two nights and I thought that was the perfect amount of time. There was a really cute downtown area, bunnies running around everywhere, and the beach was really cool to see. We did some great hikes in this area as well.

PORTLAND

Everyone should visit Portland on their trip to Oregon, even if it is for a few hours after landing before you drive to the Columbia River Gorge (which honestly isn’t that far away). We went to the famous Rose garden and it was so amazing to see!

BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT:

August- August is the perfect time to visit for less rain and warmer temperatures than the rest of the summer.

TIPS + TRICKS:

1) Bring your hiking gear!

2) Bring a rain jacket in case it rains or if you get wet from one of the waterfalls.

3) You don’t need a bathing suit- the waterfalls are very cold and definitely not swimming material

4) Pack warm clothes for the coast, the temperatures drop at night there and it can get chilly even during the day in the summer months

5) Expect your clothes to get dirty or muddy on hikes!
